A little bit about Lignum
Roger Hammond decided to move to Warminster, Wiltshire in the early 1990s
from his position as working site foreman with an architectural joinery company
in London.
James Fuke, having completed his career with a multi-national concern,
worked closely with Roger for several years previous to Lignum with a company manufacturing quality reproduction
pine furniture.
In 2002, with over 40 years of experience between them, Roger and James decided
to create Lignum (this comes from the Latin meaning wood) Roger and James quickly
identified a
niche in the market for quality bespoke wood furniture & for the refurbishment of
existing older home furniture. It was then that they created Lignum,
to create highly desirable solid wood furniture, for the office, kitchen or home.
Our business primarily focuses
in the domestic joinery field, producing doors, windows, bespoke kitchens &
installing solid timber flooring.
During their business life, Roger & James have continued to enjoy both the aesthetic
beauties of the timber itself & the technical challenges that the projects illustrated
on this website have brought them.
Their ethos continues to be one of working with clients to meet their requirements
in timber, producing designs & finished work to an extremely high standard,
staying true to the tradition of English woodwork in a domestic environment, whilst
not being averse to the use of new technology.
All of our work is made to order, lead times varying with our commitments at any
given time.
Please enjoy the website & do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your project.
Thank you for taking the time to find out
more about lignum.
